Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise
Give thanks to Him and praise His name.
We enter into the presence of the King through our thanksgiving and praise.
When we begin to resonate with the sounds of heaven in declaration and truth of the goodness of God, we partner with an atmosphere that houses the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, the place where His glory dwells! It is a place of continual access. We each possess its key.
When we lift up our praise and thanksgiving to God, we are acknowledging the truth that He causes all things to work together for good for those that love Him. Our current circumstances or situations do not determine the outflow of our praise and thanksgiving, whether good or bad. Our praise and thanksgiving is rooted in the deep love and intimate relationship that has been cultivated with The One who loves us with an unfailing love.
For it is the joy of the saints to sing the praises of the King! He is the joy set before us.
Now, yes, when the blessing comes, it serves to remind us that He is who He says He is. But when the trial comes, it also serves to remind us that we are who we say we are.
Will we run or will we position ourselves to stand in God’s truth and presence? Will we respond out of our heavenly identity? Will we walk, not forgetting the goodness, fullness and promise of God? Will we continue to remain centered and grounded, through all things, by entering through His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise?
Our thanksgiving and praise of God is not determined by our situations and circumstances. Our thanksgiving and praise resides deeper, within a place inside of us that connects to the very heart of God. It is an outflow and expression of a passionate love and relationship that cannot be shaken.
“ I am like an olive tree
Flourishing in the house of God;
I trust in His unfailing love
For ever and ever.
I will praise you forever for what you have done;
In your name I will hope, for your name is good!
I will praise you in the presence of your saints.”
These are the words of David in Psalm 52, even as He was being pursued by Saul. David was grafted into a deeper place of understanding and wisdom by way of his relationship with God. Nothing could shake him from that place because his roots went deep, just as the olive tree.
So it is with us. We have been grafted into this same royal bloodline and with it we have been given all things pertaining to life and godliness that we may declare the praises of the one that brought us out of darkness and into His wonderful light, and WE WILL praise His name, for as David declared it then, we declare it now….HIS NAME IS GOOD!
We will declare that His love stands firm forever. We will enter His gates with thanksgiving and we will enter His courts with praise. We will stand upon the firm foundation of the rock, we will not be moved. We will declare His faithfulness to all generations.
“For blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O Lord! They rejoice in your name all day long!”
